THE Kent County Football Association have invited all affiliated Saturday leagues to a seminar on Thursday April 1 to discuss the problems in the game.

Keith Masters, chief executive of the KCFA, stressed that problems facing Saturday junior football in the county were not exclusive to Kent and described it as a national problem.

Many leagues have been hit by the withdrawal of teams brought about by players making themselves unavailable for Saturday afternoon football.

“It's no secret that Saturday junior football all over the country is experiencing problems of one kind or another,” said Mr Masters. “There are problems with Sunday football but they are not as pronounced as those faced by officials in Saturday football. I’m not sure if there is a solution but it’s something we must talk about.”

Delegates will be addressed by Les Howie, of the Football Association, at the UK Paper Social Club in the Avenue of Remembrance in Sittingbourne.
