Takaloo has won eight of his 14 fights to date

TAKALOO will fight young Welshman Taz Jones in an eight-round welterweight contest at the Excel Centre in London Docklands on Saturday, December 10.

Jones is replacement for WBU champion Eamonn Magee, who pulled out because of injury earlier this month.

The 23-year-old from Abercynon has won eight, drawn three and lost three of his previous 14 fights, his last being an unsuccessful tilt for the Celtic welterweight title, losing on points to Tony Doherty at Cardiff in September.

Promoter Frank Warren is expecting a 15,000 full house, with Danny Williams’ meeting with Audley Harrison topping the bill. Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan is also due to fight.
