MARGATE travel north again this Saturday determined not to suffer their second away-day defeat of the season.

They take on former League side Halifax, seven days after their trip to Accrington where a debut goal from Gate's Manny Omoyinmi was one of the few consolations in a match that ended 3-2.

Gate led 2-1 at the interval against Accrington but paid the price for missed chances as the Lancashire side hit back.

Meanwhile, Margate's experienced midfielder and defender Simon Beard, on the transfer list since the start of the season, has joined Welling United. No fee is involved.
