Goalscoring striker Antonio German is pushing his way into Peter Taylor’s plans.

The former QPR youngster was cast aside by Taylor last season but has come back determined to show his worth.

And so far, with two goals in his last two outings, it’s working.

The Gills boss said: “He is doing exceptionally well. He has shown lots of promise in the past and never fulfilled that potential. It is an important time for him to do it.

“He has started running beyond more, working even harder and has deserved his goals. I am pleased with him.

“He only came off (on Tuesday night against Dartford) because he had done so much running and I wanted to give Aaron Millbank a run out because he deserved it as
well.

“I know Antonio was a little surprised to come off but I promise you, last season that probably would have been punishment but this time it’s because he did
well.”

Taylor added: “He texted me over the summer and asked if he was part of the plans. I told him that it was up to him to come back and show me how good he is and then he could be part of the plans. At the moment, he is doing that.”
