GOAL: Gary Mulligan

GILLINGHAM lead high-flying Huddersfield at the break at Priestfield this afternoon.

The home side and Gary Mulligan got off to a dream start when the on loan striker put them ahead after just four minutes with his first goal for the club.

He made space for himself after collecting Tommy Black's superb pass in before squeezing the ball in from a narrow angle.

Jason Brown kept the Gills in front when he produced a fine save to deny Danny Schofield and Brent Sancho made a desperate challenge when Andy Booth was in.

Both sides have had penalty claims turned down. Mulligan asked the question when he went down under a challenge and Schofield went over Brown later, although he did appear to have over-run the ball.Gillingham: Brown, Wallis, Sancho, Cox, Jackman, Black, Pouton, Crofts, Jarvis, Byfield, Mulligan.
Subs: Crichton, Johnson, Spiller, Flynn, Harris.
