Mark Stimson wants an improvement on when they last faced Lincoln

Gillingham v Lincoln

Gillingham are on another revenge mission on Tuesday when they take host Lincoln in League 2 at Priestfield.

The Imps beat Gillingham 2-0 at Sincil Bank three months ago and Gills boss Mark Stimson wants no repeat of that performance.

Stimson said: “I hope we do better than we did away from home. After 20 minutes we were fantastic but then we conceded two really poor goals.

“If we can have a better performance then hopefully it will be a better result at the end.”

Lincoln are gradually slipping away from the play-off positions. They’ll be keen to make up ground before it’s too late and Stimson knows the Gills will be in for a tough match.

“They’re a good side,” said Stimson. “We have to be ready because they’ve got two good forwards there. Everyone knows about (Geoff) Horsfield with his physical presence and the boy (Anthony) Elding, who I know from my non-league days can pull a goal out of nothing.

“Lincoln will probably have more pace than Exeter and they will probably be a bit more direct in their play.”

Forward Gary Mulligan (back) could be back for the game but Mark McCammon (hamstring) and Albert Jarrett (ankle) won’t be risked until they’ve had a run-out in the reserves on Wednesday.
