GILLINGHAM conceded twice in the last 10 minutes as Doncaster snatched the points at Priestfield on Saturday.

The Gills had bossed the second half but Jason Price headed home from a corner kick and Brian Stock added a second.

Both teams had chances to break the deadlock in the opening half, but it was Doncaster who looked the likeliest to score first, with midfielder James Coppinger instrumental in their best moves, and striker Paul Heffernan coming close on several occasions.

For Gillingham, Matt Jarvis looked lively, but keeper Ben Smith had little to do in the half, as chances from Michael Flynn, Jarvis and Clint Easton failed to trouble the Rovers keeper.

Gillingham rallied after the break and nearly took the lead from a goal mouth scramble as Bas Savage almost bundled the ball home.

Despite Gillingham’s improvements in the second half, Rovers struck a decisive blow, when Price headed in on 81 minutes from Stock’s corner kick.

And the points were sealed seven minutes later when Stock picked up a loose ball and slammed the ball into the roof of the net.

Gillingham: Brill, Easton, Cox, Flynn, Sancho, Crofts, Chorley, Savage (Spiller 84), Mulligan, Bentley (Ndumbu-Nsungu 84), Jarvis.
Subs Not Used: Jackman, Jupp, McDonald.
Attendance: 6,202.
