Millwall 2 Gillingham 2
GILLINGHAM stretched their unbeaten sequence to five games but were unable to give player-manager Andy Hessenthaler an unprecedented fourth straight win at Millwall on Boxing Day (TONY HUDD writes).
Gillingham looked on course for a fourth successive success on the strength of their first half performance when they took an eighth minute lead through midfielder Mark Saunders.
Millwall levelled against the run of play in the 40th minute through Robbie Ryan after goalkeeper Jason Brown had twice saved superbly from Steve Claridge.
Substitute Neil Harris put Millwall ahead in the 58th minute only for Gillingham to level two minutes later.
Millwall skipper Stuart Nethercott was ruled to have fouled Rod Wallace and Marlon King scored from the resulting penalty.
Hessenthaler said afterwards that he thought a draw a fair result.
Attendance: 10,947.
