James Hockey has rejoined Kent

Kent have re-signed a second former player with James Hockley back with the county - seven years after being released.

His return follows that of left arm spinner Rob Ferley, back after two years with Nottinghamshire.

Beckenham-born Hockley, 29, made 19 first class appearances between 1998 and 2002, and scored 1,000 runs in one day cricket.

He has been working as a teacher and playing club cricket for Shepherd Neame Kent League champions Hartley Country Club, with former team-mate Min Patel.

Kent skipper Rob Key, said: “James is a very talented cricketer.

"He has produced outstanding performances in the Kent League in the last two years and thoroughly deserves another chance to play First Class cricket. I am sure he will make the most of this opportunity.”
