FANS of the Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team will hope Milton Keynes get another beating when they visit the Ice Bowl on Sunday - but on the ice and not in the manner Telford dished it out a fortnight ago.

Lightning are still reeling from disgraceful scenes when 10 players from both sides - the majority former team-mates who made up the Telford Tigers - clashed.

Several fights broke out in the home tunnel and Nick Poole and Geoff O'Hara both ended up in hospital with concussion after vicious cheap shots.

O'Hara was ejected from the game as was Dwayne Newman, Barry Hollyhead and Gary Clarke, plus Telford captain Daniel Croft, Jared Owen, Mike Roden and David Fielder who got 5+game for excessive rough play.

Lightning’s Simon Howard and Wildfoxes' Jason Parry both received 2+2+10 misconduct penalties. The Telford team may face prosecution for their attacks and the league is investigating the matter.

Dynamos player coach Carl Greenhous said: “I'm virtually certain none of the Milton Keynes players will be suspended for our game, although I believe they will be missing one or two who are on GB duty.

“As for Telford, we play them next weekend, which should be interesting. They are getting quite a reputation, but it seems they tend to be aggressive only in front of their home fans not on the road.”

The Dynamos hope to be at full strength this weekend. Sean Clement bruised his shoulder last weekend against Swindon and missed the Nottingham game, but should be fit.

Greenhous added: “We have no suspensions and everyone is raring to go. We will be looking to reverse out of our mini slump and greatly improve our performance, which was poor last weekend.”

n Dynamos players will be at Bluewater on Saturday at the Starburst Christmas Ice Rink giving away tickets to the Nottingham Lions game on December 1, which will be a blackout game.

This involves supporters being asked to dress in black as the team dons their all-black away strip as they attempt to intimidate the Lions.
