PHIL CHARD: aiming to win every game

THE Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team are slowly building their squad as they prepare for the new English National Hockey League (South) season.

The remaining Mos from last season, the Invicta Mustangs and new players interested in joining the club, including Haringey’s Gary Dodds, have been at the Ice Bowl for trials.

Player-coach Phil Chard said: “It was a good turnout with 30-plus players taking part and there were a few missing who we expect to be involved.

“We are going to have a two-tier squad this season. However, we will still be putting out teams that we expect to win every game.”

Bracknell Hornets will provide the Dynamos’ first opposition as they visit the Ice Bowl on Sunday, September 7.

Ticket prices are adults £5 and under-16s £3.50. Season tickets, valid for any 15 league or cup home games during the domestic season, cost £70 for adults and £48 for under-16s.
