In-form skipper frustrated by Crusaders wash out

AT THE end of another weekend dominated by bad weather, there was time for reflection for Sittingbourne Spray-Tex Crusaders' Dean Felton.
The skipper, who turned 38 on Saturday, gave one of the best performances of his speedway career with a 14 point return at Plymouth on Friday, before being frustrated as rain washed out Sunday's double-header against Boston and Rye House.
In Devon on Friday, Felton won three heats, including an emphatic victory over the Devils' top two Tom Brown and Seemond Stephens in heat 15. But his heroics couldn't prevent the visitors going down to a 64-28 defeat.
Felton spoke of his frustration at not being allowed to continue his good form at the Old Gun Site on Sunday.
He said: "It was galling to have to go away from Old Ferry Road having not ridden on an occasion where for once the strength of our team looked capable of grabbing wins.
"I was on a real high after Friday and that made it all the more frustrating that Sunday got washed out."
Crusaders travel to Cleveland on Saturday looking for their first away victory of the season.
Scorers: Felton 14; Harland Cook 6; Jerran Hart 3; Jamie Pickard 2; Joe Reynolds 2; Andre Cross 1.
