MARGATE'S Adrian Clarke is likely to be out of action for at least a fortnight after being carried off with an ankle injury at Thurrock on Monday night.

The former Arsenal midfielder was taken to hospital but the injury is not as bad as first feared.

Greg Oates is doubtful for Gate's Nationwide South game on Saturday against Hornchurch who were favourites to win the league until they lost their financial backer recently.

Youngster Alexis Charalambous and long-serving defender Billy Edwards could earn a recall to the starting line-up.

It's Margate's first home league game for nearly a month and they are unbeaten at Homelands in their last four matches.

Former coach Kevin Hales is now assistant manager at Hornchurch and the Essex club are also likely to include ex-Margate striker Jean Michel Sigere.
