JEPSON: "In the trade we work in you can't be nervous"

Gillingham 1 Bournemouth 1

NERVOUSNESS got the better of Gillingham on Saturday with a stoppage time equaliser sparing their blushes against strugglers Bournemouth.

That was the excuse the Gills manager Ronnie Jepson used to explain his side’s inability to see off a side without an away win all season.

Andrew Crofts netted the equaliser deep into injury time on his hundredth start for the club, to end The Gills’ three game losing streak, but Jepson knows a point wasn’t good enough.

"The first half was poor and the players were very nervous," he said. "That can happen when you lose three on the spin.

"But in the trade we work in you can’t be nervous, you’ve got to go and acquit yourselves, especially when your playing at home."
