TWO GOALS: Danny Kedwell

Maidenhead Untied 2 – 4 Welling United

TWO late goals from Danny Kedwell ensured Welling’s Nationwide Conference South form stayed on track at lowly Maidenhead on Saturday.

The in-form striker rescued his side after they had let a 2-0 lead slip in the second half.

The Wings took the lead on 28 minutes when Che Stadhart scored from close range following Adrian Clark’s near post corner.

It was 2-0 two minutes after the break when another Clark corner found Stadhart and his lay off was volleyed home from the edge of the box by Rob Owen.

On 55 minutes the home side were given a lifeline when Welling keeper Jamie Turner could only parry Matt Glynn’s long range shot and Lee Newman pounced on the rebound.

Maidenhead were level five minutes later when former Wings striker Stephen Hughes rounded Turner and slotted home.

The visitors nudged back in front with six minutes left when Maidenhead keeper Paul McCarthy fouled Stadhart and Kedwell drilled home the penalty.

The game was made safe four minutes into stoppage time when Jamie Day sent Kedwell clear and he shot low past McCarthy.
