KENT showjumper Julian Mincher had two top four finishers in the Equiline Horseboxes Novice Championship on the first day of the Blue Chip Championships at Solihull Riding Club.

Julian, from Ashford, was third with Capital C in a time of 39.83 after picking up four faults and was fourth with Catrina C with four faults in 41:32.

However top honours went to another of the county's riders with Charlotte Foreman from Hernehill having a clear round in 38.07 on Orton Lane Chantelle to hold off Huddersfield's Louise Redfearn on Lucky Touch (43:32).

In a good day for county riders Holly Hensler from Gravesend was sixth with Abriz Z with four faults and a time of 50.89.
