Kent Cricket announce fixture at Tunbridge Wells after issues with ground addressed by council

Kent Cricket have announced they will play at The Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells in the 2018 season.
The club will face Warwickshire in the County Championship from June 20-23 at the ground.
It had not been included in the original fixture schedule because of issues with the ground that needed addressing by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
However, Kent have announced the improvements have been successful and the annual festival at the ground will go ahead, subject to the standard ECB pre-match inspections.
Kent Cricket interim CEO Ben Green told the club’s website: “We’re delighted to continue our proud tradition of playing cricket at Tunbridge Wells despite all the challenges of playing outground cricket in the current county cricket schedule.
“We’re encouraged to see that Tunbridge Wells Borough Council have addressed the issues that we have raised to secure the sustainability of first class cricket at The Nevill Ground.”
Councillor Jane March, cabinet member with responsibility for tourism, leisure and economic development at the council said: “We are looking forward to again hosting Kent Cricket and welcoming visitors to the town and the picturesque Nevill Ground.”
The 2017 festival only went ahead after extensive work from groundstaff prior to the fixture as concerns were raised over maintenance at The Nevill Ground.
