NEW Gillingham signing Simon Osborn looks set to make his full debut for the club at n Wimbledon tomorrow. Osborn, who joined the Gills on a free transfer from Port Vale last week, came off the bench during the 2-0 home defeat against Norwich on Saturday but club boss Andy Hessenthaler is likely to give him, and on-loan purchase Robert Taylor, a full game this time around.

The duo were not considered for the reserves' 6-0 home win over Leyton Orient in mid-week, indicating that both are being saved for the Selhurst Park clash at the weekend. However, one player who did play for the second string was Paul Shaw and, in scoring a hat-trick, he did his chances of a recall no harm at all.

Gills first team coach Wayne Jones said: "Andy Hessenthaler watched the game himself and so I am sure we will be talking about it and weighing things up ahead of the weekend. Paul took his goals ever so well, and he had two or three other good chances in the game."

Hessenthaler faces the 'nice' choice of picking two strikers from four on Saturday, as Shaw, Taylor and Guy Ipoua battle it out with top scorer Marlon King to start the game.

The Gills manager is unlikely to pick himself for the trip to Selhurst Park as his damaged shoulder hasn't fully recovered while Ty Gooden and Iffy Onuora are still unavailable after groin and knee injuries respectively, but both should be back in contention shortly.

Second choice goalkeeper Jason Brown could miss out on a place on the substitute's bench after injuring his knee during Wednesday's match, in which he saved a penalty.

One piece of good news for Hessenthaler is that Barry Ashby's suspension does not rule him out of contention for the Dons game as was first feared, although he might have to settle for a place on the bench anyway.
