Johan ter Horst on the run for Folkestone Picture: Gary Browne

Folkestone Invicta didn't play yesterday but still Johan ter Horst managed to score. The teenage striker, who's off to Hull City in the summer, made his first appearance for the Tigers' under-21 side and scored in a 1-1 draw against Sunderland.

He'll be back in the Invicta squad for Friday's trip to Guernsey, before lining up for Neil Cugley's side in the play-offs. What a story it would be it ter Horst helped Folkestone to promotion in his very last game for the club.

And another! Ben Harmison lasted only three balls. Kent 36-4. Surely not...

16.35 - CRICKET

Wicket! Brendan Nash departs for six and Kent are wobbling at 36-3. There are 22 overs left in the day.

16.30 - FOOTBALL

Dover Athletic's Skrill South play-off hopes are now looking pretty remote and they'll be keeping a very keen on on Havant & Waterlooville's game against Maidenhead tonight. Havant will be out of Dover's reach if they win, meaning the Whites would need to pip Ebbsfleet to fifth place. But with the Fleet also having a game in hand, at Concord tomorrow, Dover will know they're very much outsiders at this stage.

Stranger things have happened, though.

Hythe Town are finishing 2013/14 as the form team in Ryman League Division 1 South and manager Scott Porter has targeted two new signings to make his side play-off contenders next season.

15.10 - CRICKET

That is the very definition of a nightmare start. Sam Northeast departs for a golden duck, caught and bowled by former Kent man Charlie Shreck. Daniel Bell-Drummond comes in and hits his first ball for four, so the home side are now 4-1.

15.05 - CRICKET

Leicestershire have declared on 259-5 at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, setting Kent an improbable 324 to win. Greg Smith top-scored with 118.

The runs keep flowing at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, but unfortunately for Kent fans it's Leicestershire who are making hay. The visitors are now 201-3 (Robson 73, Smith 92) and a whopping 265 runs ahead.

14.15 - BREAKING

Ebbsfleet United will go back to play Concord Rangers tomorrow night after they lost their FA appeal today. The game was abandoned because of floodlight failure last Tuesday, with the Fleet 2-0 up, and they were unhappy about having to start from scratch in the rematch.

But play in the Skrill South game will start from minute one and 0-0 as expected.

LUNCHBREAK

It's lunch in the cricket at Canterbury, so we're going to take a breather too. Leicestershire have moved the score on to 157-3, which means they've added 118 runs for the loss of just one wicket today. Greg Smith is 73 not out and Angus Robson moved to 50 on the stroke of lunch. The visitors now have a lead of 221.

12.55 - FOOTBALL

Margate have agreed a two-year deal for a training ground in Kidbrooke, south-east London. Terry Brown's players will have use of an all-weather pitch and a gym as they go for the Ryman League Premier Division title next season.

Blues chairman Bob Laslett said: "This is the best venue for Terry and his staff to be able to train the players with the best facilities. It will be an exciting season and we want to give Terry and his squad the best tools to be able to do the job, and by agreeing to train at this complex for the next two years it certainly goes a long way to doing that."
