Kevin Maher says Gills will go into the game in a positive mood

Midfielder Kevin Maher is approaching Gillingham's must-win game against Swindon on Saturday with an air of excitement.

The on-loan midfielder can’t wait for the game and will be giving his all to earn the Gills three crucial points.

"We’re looking forward to it," he said. "It’s a massive game and it’s one you want to play in.

"As a player the bigger the game the more you want to play in them and this is one of them where you know you need a result. We’ll be going out there positive and thinking about a win.

"When you play football you want to be playing for something and you want a bit of an edge to the game ­– we’ve certainly got that here at the moment."
