IAIN O'CONNELL: netted in friendly against Sevenoaks

LONG-TERM injury victims Iain O'Connell and Billy Edwards could both feature in Margate's squad for the FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie away to Grays Athletic on Saturday.

Both men came through 90 minutes in a friendly against Sevenoaks on Monday with O'Connell heading the first goal in a 2-0 win.

John Keister, still troubled by a hamstring injury, missed that match but fellow midfielder Terry McFlynn did play and could be in contention for a place in the starting line-up at Grays.

A place in Monday's first round draw awaits the winners and Margate will also been keen to avenge the 2-0 defeat they suffered against Grays in the same competition two years ago.

If required, the replay is scheduled for Dover's Hoverspeed Stadium on Tuesday, October 28, kick-off 7.45pm.

* Margate defender Greg Oates has been selected for the National Game XI. The full-back is in the squad for the match against Belgium at Darlington on Tuesday, November 4.
