BUSY MAN: Alan Curbishley

CHARLTON Athletic are thought to be close to agreeing a deal to sign Oxford United striker Craig Davies.

The Welsh under 21 international has attracted interest from a host of Premiership clubs after breaking into first team last season.

Davies is one of the seven transfer targets manager Alan Curbishley has been chasing this summer.

As yet there are no firm details of the fee, though it is believed to be around a £250,000 with additional clauses.

Davies began his career as a trainee with Manchester City before ending his apprentership with the League Two club. Having scored on his full debut, he went on to bag six goals in 13 starts for Oxford.

Meanwhile, the Addicks are also set to conclude a deal for Inter Milan's Uruguaian defender Gonzalo Sorondo in the coming week.
