Bobby Bowry says Bromley have missed striker Nic McDonnell

Thurrock v Bromley

BROMLEY are hoping to have key striker Nic McDonnell available for their clash at Thurrock on New Year's Day.

McDonnell has been sidelined with a groin injury but could be ready to return against the side which the Lillywhites thrashed 8-1 on Boxing Day.

Player-coach Bobby Bowry said: "Nic has been a big miss for us with his physical presence. It also means we only have two strikers at the club (Danny Hockton and Gareth Williams), so there is a lot of pressure on those two."

Garath McCleary was expected to miss the Thurrock game, but should be available for Saturday's trip to Bognor Regis on Saturday. Tutu Henriques remains two to three weeks away, while Steve Clark faces another month on the sidelines.

Teenage midfielder Charlie Howard has returned to Gillingham to treat an ankle problem. Howard is unlikely to be available until the end of his month’s loan period at Hayes Lane, which expires in January.
