KENT County Cricket Club are looking to canvas the opinion of their membership ahead of next month’s First-Class Forum aimed at re-shaping the domestic game.

Representatives from all 18 counties will re-convene at Lord’s on Thursday, April 11, but in the meantime Kent chief executive Paul Millman wants to hear how his members foresee the future of English cricket.

“The recommendations to the next forum are in the public domain now and we encourage those who are interested enough to look at the club website and have their say in the debate,” said Mr Millman. “We do have an open door approach here and like to feel our members can contribute to this. This way we can go into next month’s meeting knowing what their feelings are.”

The recommendations include allowing each club to sign two overseas players and doing away with one of the limited overs’ knock-out competitions to make room for a short-form 20-over competition to be played inside a fortnight in mid-summer.

The forum will also consider Scotland’s induction into the Norwich Union League second division, the introduction of a play-off scheme to decide NCL promotion and relegation and starting championship matches on Sundays.
