PAULO MONTEIRO'S proposed loan from Charlton to League 2 Accrington Stanley has been put on hold pending international clearance.

The Portugal Under-21 central defender was due to make his Stanley debut tonight against Brentford at the Fraser Eagle Stadium until a hitch in the paperwork meant the move could not be completed in time.

Neither club are sure when Monteiro would receive clearance to make his Football League debut.
