KENT'S Graham Chambers will be looking forward to racing at his home track this weekend when the Seven Fifty Motor Club makes its annual visit to the Lydden Circuit for a packed programme, with 19 races over two days.
Chambers, from Womenswold, near Dover, and his Austin Seven Special will be racing in the first and last races on Saturday in the A7 Triple Challenge event.
He is a former champion and won the Lydden race last year.
More Austin Seven racers will be taking part in the two 750 Trophy Series events, one on each day, like all the other categories taking part.
The 750 Motor club was originally founded to encourage innovative chassis design.
The only common feature of the 750 Formula cars was the mandatory Austin Seven motor, but these days all the cars run with Reliant or Fiat engines.
By way of a complete contrast the burgeoning Stock Hatch Series is bang-up-to-date with an incredible 52 cars struggling to qualify for two heats and a Final on each day.
Citroen Saxos, 106 Peugeots and Ford Fiestas are the most popular ammunition for the battle.
Saturday's action starts with practice at 9am, followed by the first race at 12.15pm.
The racing on Sunday begins at 12.30pm.
Lydden Circuit is on the A2, eight miles south of Canterbury.
Admission is £8 (£6 for senior citizens). Entry for accompanied children, parking and paddock is free.
