The Kent Lawn Tennis Association is hoping for more success for their county winners at the LTA National Awards at the end of July.

The annual Kent LTA Awards evening took place on March 7, just before lockdown.

Regional award winners are through to the national LTA awards (38838689)

Seventeen awards were awarded to worthy winners on the evening, with 10 automatically going through to the LTA Regional Awards.

Two of those regional winners, St Peters Primary School, Aylesford (education award) and the Sadie Bristow Foundation (competition award), both now go through to the LTA National Awards.

Denis Costelloe, a former Kent LTA President is to be awarded the prestigious LTA meritorious service award and with a wealth of talented junior and senior players Kent LTA is hopeful that we may have some recognition in the LTA performance player awards.

The National Awards are normally presented at the All England Lawn Tennis Club during the Wimbledon Championships, however, with the event cancelled this year, for the first time ever the National LTA Awards ceremony will be hosted virtually.

The event will be streamed for free on the LTA website on July 30 at 7pm, hosted by David Rawlinson, president of the LTA and presented by Davis Cup captain Leon Smith OBE, with a number of special guest announcers and some surprises along the way.

The LTA Tennis Awards highlight the incredible achievements made by outstanding volunteers, coaches, officials, venues and players. They are an opportunity to say thank you to the many thousands of inspirational individuals involved in tennis.
