GILLINGHAM Golf Club have confirmed their new clubhouse will be ready before the end of November this year. There had been some suggestions the bad weather over the past few months might delay the opening but project committee member Ben Troke maintained the building is still on schedule.

He said: "There has been a slight delay because of the bad weather but the clubhouse will be ready by mid to late November. It will be one of the best clubhouses in Kent."

The club, with around 700 members, is hoping the new building, which includes a large lounge and function room, will attract more visitors to the course.

A week of celebrations are planned at the new clubhouse in March next year with a different event each night.
