Ellis Green will not play for Welling again under Andy Ford

Manager Andy Ford has stated that missing Welling winger Ellis Green will never play for the club again.

Green has not been seen since the home match with Eastleigh last month - and Ford insisted that he will not entertain him in the future.

"I've written him off now," Ford said. "I couldn't take him back now.

"I've had no contact at all and I'm very disappointed. You need to speak to each other, even if it's just to shake hands and go your separate ways."

Ford also disclosed what he believes is the reason why Green has not made contact with the Wings for nearly a month.

"I haven't fallen out with him as people are saying," said Ford.

"He was not on a contract. I tried to get him to sign one earlier this season, and he never would.

"I was playing by his rules but when he wasn't playing and I was short (of bodies), I had to take some money out of his wages to pay some of the kids on the bench. I'm not talking masses of money as he still got paid something."
