2004 marks the 18th consecutive year of the Wingham Trotters annual 5,000m and 10,000m fun runs, sponsored this time by Lighthouse Lighting.

The runs are to take place on Sunday, September 12 at Wingham Recreation Ground, at 10.30am.

Registration is at 9am and costs £5 for affiliated club runners, and £6 for non-affiliated, with all proceeds going to local projects. Under 16 year olds pay £3 to participate.

Secretary of the athletics club, Simon Willis, said: “This is very much a family event with something for all ages.”

There is also an opportunity for younger enthusiasts to participate with U8 and U11 races beginning at 11.30am and costing £1.
