Justin Cochrane gave Gills the lead, but they have been pegged back

Gillingham 1 Scunthorpe United 1

IT'S all square at half-time after two goals in two minutes at Priestfield this afternoon.

Gillingham took the lead seven minutes before the break when Tommy Black sent Justin Cochrane clear with a superb flick and the on loan midfielder produced a fine finish for his first goal since joining the club.

But Scunthorpe were level quickly when Matthew Sparrow curled a brilliant shot past Jason Brown after being teed up by teenage striker Andrew Keogh.

Earlier, Danny Spiller could have given the home side the lead, but failed to connect properly with Gavin Grant's cross and Scunthorpe were able to clear.

The Gills suffered another injury blow on 26 minutes when Sean Clohessy was forced off with a head injury after a nasty clash with team-mate Ian Cox. Cox was able to come back on after having stitches.

Gillingham: Brown, Clohessy (Rose 26), Johnson, Cox, Jackman, Black, Cochrane, Crofts, Spiller, Harris, Grant.
Subs: Crichton, Hope, Pouton, Shields.
