Sandwich Town’s young Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne has taken a real liking to the bowlers in Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division.

The former Queensland under-19 captain scored his second consecutive hundred after he blasted an unbeaten 203 off 174 balls in the winning draw against Canterbury at The Butts on Saturday.

It means he has now scored 330 runs in the first two league games of the season following his 127 against Bexley in the season opener.

Labuschagne shared an opening stand of 200 with Ryan Davies (85) as the home side made an impressive 360-3 from their 55 overs after being asked to bat first.

Canterbury replied with 263-7 after Sam Lowry (84), Justin Macvicar (74) and Paul Steer (60) all made significant contributions.

Defending champions Hartley beat Bromley by two-wickets in a low scoring affair at Culvey Close.

Bromley elected to bat first but were bowled out for 148.

Freddie Wilson top-scored with 38 as opening bowler Daniel Redwood finished with 4-31 off 15 overs.

Hartley looked well set at 49-1 in reply before Dominic Reed (5-45) ripped through the middle order as the home side struggled to 130-8 before James Thompson (48 not out) guided his team home.

Sevenoaks Vine made it two from two after beating visitors Bexley by three wickets.
Bexley scored 109 after losing seven wickets for just 29 runs as Luke Blackaby finished with 5-17 off 11 overs.

Sevenoaks were in trouble at 9-2 and 93-7 before an unbeaten 16 by Miles Richardson saw them home.

At Lordswood, Blackheath’s Jahid Ahmed scored 120 as the visitors made 263-6 off their 55 overs. Dan Masters (3-49) was the pick of the Lordswood bowlers.

Chris Piesley (66) Jack Richardson (53) and Adeel Hussain (32 not out) all made contributions in reply before Blackheath took the final wicket with just three balls remaining to win by 34 runs.

Beckenham opening bowler Junaid Nadir took 8-16 as his side won by three wickets at Bickley.

Bickley lost their last six wickets for just five runs to be all-out for 136 despite a fifth-wicket stand of 92 between Dan Magin (61) and Joss Sidall (34).
