SOUTHERN League Division 1 East play-off hopefuls Chatham Town begin a four-day spell that could make or break his season when they travel to Waltham Forest on Saturday.

They then face Wivenhoe away on Tuesday in the second of two trips to the teams immediately above them in the table.

Manager Steve Binks has targeted at least four points from the games but will be without midfielder Glenn Billinness who has decided to quit the club.

Binks said: "We’re looking for wins from these games because we’ll start to lose touch if we don’t. We’re hanging on to the coat tails of the teams above."

Rob Denness is doubtful for Saturday with a calf problem, while Andy Larkin comes back into the squad. Gary Tilley is back doing light training after recovering from a broken leg although Binks doesn’t see him being fully fit until next season.

Dartford play away to Barking & East Ham United, one of the best footballing sides in the division looking to halt a run of three straight defeats.

Midfielder Steve Hafner remains out of contention with knee ligament damage and only started running in training this week.

Another midfielder, Teddy Ansell, who returned to the squad at Berkhamsted for the first time since November, is bidding for a place in the starting line-up .

In the same division, Sittingbourne make the trip to Rothwell Town.

DOVER manager Clive Walker is prepared to ditch his "safety first" principle as Whites prepare for the first of two tought matches in four days.

Saturday’s home game with Metropolitan Police is followed by Tuesday’s trip to Tonbridge Angels, both of whom are now above Dover in the Ryman League Division 1 table. Whites slipped to ninth following last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Lymington & New Milton, their fifth draw in their last seven league games.

Walker said: "The problem is that we are just not scoring enough goals and maybe we need to be a bit more gung-ho, especially at home, because draws are no good to us now."

Walker’s attacking options will be increased when Jimmy Dryden recovers from his knee injury. Dryden trained on Tuesday but Walker said: "It’s unlikely he will be involved on Saturday."

Ashford Town manager Tim Thorogood serves the second of a three-game ban against Croydon Athletic as his side aim to bounce back from their heaviest defeat of the season at Burgess Hill at the weekend.

Leaders Ramsgate host Fleet Town at Southwood, Tonbridge Angels travel to Newport IOW and Cray Wanderers make the trip to Kingstonian.

In Ryman League Premier Division, Folkestone Invicta travel to meet Hendon.

Neil Cugley's team have found Saturday's opponents something of a bogey side having lost all three previous meetings.

Bromley's home clash with Hampton & Richmond Borough and Margate's trip to Wealdstone make up the rest of the fixtures in that division.
