After being overpowered in the first half, Sheppey gave Erith plenty to think about on Saturday before eventually losing 29-19 in Kent 1 on Saturday.

Utilising their extra power up front, Erith were rampant early on and built a 15-0 lead through tries from Russell Holmes and Glynn Southey before Daniel Seager made it 15-3 with a penalty.

However, winger Tommy Junior then raced over for a converted try to put Erith in command at the break.

A second penalty from Seager made it 22-6. Although Southey scored a breakaway converted try, Seager slotted his third penalty for 29-9 before good support from the pack and early ball from John Kelly gave Ethan Roach the opportunity to break clear. The ball was then worked through the backs for Dean Ealey to finish well in the corner.
