Stimson keeps his feet on the ground

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson admitted the 2-1 victory over Luton on Tuesday night was like winning a cup final but was quick to come back down to earth.
Stimson celebrated with his players at the final whistle after securing a crucial three points against Luton but is keeping his feet on the ground.
“The second half was like we were going for promotion,” he said. “The stadium was rocking. Hopefully that’s the sign of the times that we want at the club.
“It’s a great result but it’s far from over. If you look at the league table it will still say bottom four and we don’t want to be there at the end of the season.
"What we’ve done is give ourselves a chance and we have to enjoy this one. It’s only one game and we’ve got five major cup finals now.
“My fitness coach said to me afterwards it was a bit like the cup final last year at Wembley (when Stevenage won the FA Trophy). We were down, then we were level, then we won and people were going absolutely crazy. It was a bit similar and he was right.
“With that noise you would thought we had got into the play-offs and long may that continue.”
