Stimson playing it safe over stomach bug

Dennis Oli was subbed at Luton after complaining of stomach cramps

Dennis Oli has become the second player in a week to be hit by a stomach bug and Gillingham manager Mark Stimson is keeping a close eye on the situation.

The Gills travel north on Friday ahead of Saturday’s League 2 match at Accrington and Stimson doesn’t want any illness spreading.

On Saturday Curtis Weston was hit by a bug and Oli was struggling on Tuesday night.

"We have to make sure the players take their own drinks bottles and drink out of those," said Stimson.

"The boys are off on Wednesday so they’ll be keeping away from each other and hopefully it gets out of Dennis’ system and he can train Thursday."
