Football is one of those games where a phone call can change your life one way or another.

You could pick up the phone and be asked if you want to go to Manchester United, or it may be someone calling to say thanks but no thanks. You just don’t know what the future holds.

I haven’t asked the club if I will still be here when a new manager is named. I feel it’s irrelevant at this stage because I can’t control the situation.

The only situation I can control is making sure I’m excellent every day I go to work. I have to go in with a smile on my face and make sure I get the best out of the lads.

I’ve given my best ever since the day I started work as a young lad at the council and that’s what I’ll continue to do here. I feel I’ve got a lot to offer and when you’re part of something, you want to work hard and keep improving.

Football’s all about getting on with people, making things work and asking questions to find out what people want and how they want things done.

I like to think I am a person who can get on with anybody.

I do ask a lot of questions and that way there’s less chance of doing something people don’t like. Who knows, that might make me a pain in the backside!
