I’m going to make sure I enjoy myself this weekend. We worked so hard last season to get the chance to play at fantastic places like Preston.
It’s a club steeped in history, with a fantastic stadium and this is what it is all about.
We’ll be looking for points, firstly, but I believe that if you enjoy the job you do, you do the job better.
They’ve got a good home record and have had a great season but it’s just the next challenge for us in this League 1 season of ours and what a fantastic place to go.
Preston are already guaranteed a play-off place this season and I know what that is like, having been in that situation before with Lincoln.
Do you rest players or keep going? If you are winning games, like I said last week, you don’t want to stop, you want to play every day. I am sure whoever plays for them will be desperate to impress so that they can be part of the play-offs.
We go into this weekend full of confidence after a good weekend, where we picked up four points.
We scored a couple of late goals against Tranmere but I think 2-0 was a fair outcome and with the chances we created, particularly in the first half, the win was warranted.
It was a good finish from Bradley Dack to put us ahead and then Cody McDonald also finished well in injury time. A chance like that may seem easy, with the goal gaping, but it’s not just a case of rolling it in.
He had a defender putting him under pressure and I was pleased with the run that Westy made, he distracted the defender and that gave Cody a bit more time. The way the pair of them both broke also showed our fitness levels off in a positive light.
