It was fantastic to see Cody McDonald hit the winner against Wolves and he is in a great bit of form.
He’s in a position now where he probably isn’t even thinking about what he’s doing, it just comes as second nature.
Cody isn’t the only one hitting the net recently, as all of our strikers seem to be scoring regularly. We have scored 33 goals so far and 24 have been scored by three of our strikers.
Cody, Bayo and Keds are all in great form and they are sharing the goals around between them at the top. It is always good if your strikers are scoring.
You shouldn’t just judge a striker on the goals they score but I know many do and strikers do like to get goals, so they are all happy at the moment.
There is plenty of confidence up front and we are going into games thinking we’ve got goals in us. At the minute, Cody is probably thinking he can score with everything he hits.
We’ve also managed to add another striker to the ranks, in young Jack Marriott on loan from Ipswich. He looks full of energy, has fitted in well and is a nice lad.
It was great to see us also keep a clean sheet against Wolves.
That goes down to the lads’ concentration and sticking to their guns. There were a lot of good blocks, good headers and good clearances and it is one of those skills to make sure you concentrate right to the end and that’s what we did.
