It’s always nice to sit down for a glass of wine with opposition managers after a game.
I don’t know Alex Ferguson but his son, Darren, is a lovely man. He comes across well and is good to talk to.
We always invite managers in for a drink after the game.
It gives you a chance to pick each other’s brains about how to get the best out of everybody.
You talk about how things are going and what games you have coming up. I’m sure Darren will have learned a lot from his dad but, at the same time, every young manager has to be himself.
We were unfortunate to concede such a late equaliser against Peterborough and it hurt but it’s another point to add to our tally.
You never think a game’s over when you’re sat on the touchline. We’ve been in situations ourselves when we’ve snatched a draw late on and it feels like you’ve won.
There can be such a swing of emotions at the end of the game and against Peterborough, we had that dip from conceding.
You always think about what you could have done differently and it’s important you learn from every game.
