All the latest from Crayford Greyhound Track

Recent tips Pony Bride and Garbhans Girl both won at the weekend for column followers at odds of evens and 3-1 respectively.
As I had indicated last week, you can not expect a big price when he runs but in hindsight, even money looks like good value when he wins by these sort of margins.
Old timer Garbhans Girl has been in top form lately, winning four of her last six races and shows that at the age of four-and-a-half, she is arguably in the best form ever at the moment. Expect more wins from both dogs.
It gives me the greatest of pleasure to give you some news this week that I doubt that anyone in the future will be able to repeat.
It concerns a greyhound who is everyone’s favourite at the track, Newlawn Sweep trained by Patsy Cusack. The dog already holds the incredible record of being Crayford’s all-time race record holder with 257 races on his book.
You have to put this achievement into perspective when you consider that the dog is eight years old this September and would have normally retired from racing three years ago!
My report today is to announce that he has reached yet another incredible landmark by winning his 50th graded race at the track. To the best of our knowledge, no dog has ever won that many races here and I have been in touch with the sport’s governing body, The
Greyhound Board of Great Britain, to ask the question as to whether anyone knows of a similar feat at any track in the past in the United
Kingdom.
If any reader has any information, give me a call at the track as we have no takers at the moment. He is a special individual who has now gained his place in the history of Crayford greyhound track and it will certainly be a big night whenever a retirement date is decided upon for him.
