KEY Gillingham players Nyron Nosworthy and Marlon King, who have increasingly been the focus of transfer speculation, are included in what is likely to be an unchanged side away to second-placed Wigan on Saturday.

Gills, currently in 19th place in the table, will be looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat when they visit the JJB Stadium (kick off 3pm).

Nosworthy and are at odds with chairman Paul Scally at the end of a week which left supporters baffled and bewildered over whether they are staying or going.

It had been thought the club were resigned to losing King who has been constantly linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.

This was followed by a statement issued by Mr Scally on the club's official website in which he said of Nosworthy: “Despite the fact that we have asked him to go away and consider a new contract, the player's agent has told us he would not be signing a contract when his current one expires in 2005.”

In a surprise twist, the two close friends declared their commitment to Gillingham with Nosworthy stating that he will sign a new deal if it were forthcoming when his present agreement ends in 2005.

King argued that he never said he wanted to leave and hit out at supporters whom, he alleges, booed him during Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Reading.

Nosworthy said: “I would like to clear up what has been said this week about me because the quote about me wanting to leave at the end of my contract is not something I've said.

“What I said is that I have no problem with signing another contract later in the season, but not right now. I think it's come out because the chairman and I had a bit of a disagreement.

“But we've sorted that out and we're still talking. I can only assume that what's been said is down to a lack of communications. I don't want to leave and I'm not looking for another club. As long as the chairman wants me to stay, I'll stay.

“I'll see out my contract and if there's another good one on the table when I finish I'll sign it.”

King retorted: “You have not seen or heard a statement from me saying I want to leave the club. It's out of my hands.” He would not elaborate.
