It’s been a frustrating few weeks for me personally.

After my red card at Yeovil Town, the first of my career, I’m going to be watching the games over the Christmas period from the stands – something I’ve never liked doing.

The ban has come at a time when I felt like I was starting to build some momentum after injury and getting back on the scoresheet.

We suffered from a mad five minutes at Huish Park and ended up losing two points really.

We were in control of the match and then they scored a lucky goal that meant the momentum completely swung and changed their mind-sets.

At that point you’re just trying to get the message out to everyone to stay calm and keep doing what you’re doing but obviously goals change games.

They were re-energised and everything they did was that little bit quicker and it does become harder to deal with but I think if we’d rode out that five minutes, we’d have probably seen it out.

At the time I didn’t think I deserved to be sent off but, after seeing it again, I can understand why the referee has given it.

Finally as captain of the club, on behalf of all the players I’d like to wish you all a merry Christmas.

Hopefully the lads can give you the perfect present against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
