Wednesday saw the angling community once again able to resume the sport they love.

During these torrid times it is a day we have all looked forward to very much.

Anglers have been out taking advantage of the new lockdown rules which allow them to fish again (34834735)

Early signs show the fish are there and very hungry!

Thornback rays, bass and others have been caught, and in most cases returned, to the delight of their fish-starved captors!

From Herne Bay to Hythe, the sound of shingle underfoot abounds.

Freshwater anglers like the sea angler are limited to where is open to fish but signs are that the tench and carp are in the feeding mood.

It is advisable for the time being to phone ahead to see if the lake you are hoping to visit is open as this will save a wasted journey.

The sea angler needs to do the same as many piers and beaches have restrictions in place.

The pictures show local anglers out enjoying the sunshine and catching some lovely fish for their tea!
