Forward Kurtis Guthrie has become the latest high-profile player to leave Welling for a transfer fee.

Guthrie has joined fellow Conference Premier side Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed amount after he declined the offer of a new contract at Park View Road.

He follows the likes of Andy Pugh, Jack Parkinson, Fraser Franks and Loick Pires who have all been sold.

Guthrie, 21, joined the Wings midway through the 2012/13 season having originally been on trial in the summer of 2012. He scored his first Welling goals with a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Weston in April last year.

He scored four goals last season for the Wings, including in Welling's 2-1 Boxing Day win at Dartford. He also impressed during the 5-2 win against Forest Green Rovers at Park View Road.

Guthrie, who operated mainly from the right wing, leaves Park View Road with eight goals to his name in 61 appearances.

Forest Green are managed by former Gillingham defender and ex-Welling manager, Adrian Pennock.
