Bishop's Stortford v Welling United
WELLING boss Adrian Pennock is hopeful of making at least one addition to his squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bishop’s Stortford.
The Wings boss has released Ronayne Benjamin and transfer-listed striker Akwasi Edusei in a bid to freshen up a side that have lost their last three matches.
Pennock said: "I’m waiting for Akwasi to leave because he’s under contract, then I can get a couple of new faces in, as we need some new people to pick us up a bit."
Grays’ bid for Danny Kedwell remains the only firm offer for the club’s top scorer. His departure is a matter of when, not if, and Pennock is keen to bring in a new striker soon.
"I’m just waiting to get the go-ahead and it’s a little frustrating," added Pennock.
Bishop’s Stortford sit just two points and two places above Welling and Pennock knows, after two straight league defeats, his side must turn things around soon.
He said: "It’ll be an interesting game and my players will definitely be up for it."
