Welling manager Jamie Day has revealed that club captain Lee Clarke and full-back Jack Obersteller have left the club.

Clarke made 197 appearances for the Wings and scored an impressive 59 goals, captaining the side to Conference South title success in 2012/13, while Obersteller departs with 163 appearances for the Wings to his name.

Day said: “I’d like to go on record to thank both players for their services to the club over a number of years.

“Lee joined the club before I came back as manager and Jack was one of the first players that I signed. I wish them every success in the future.”

Day said: “I’m delighted that we’ve secured the services of this core of players who performed so well for the club in the past 12 months at Conference Premier level.

“We’re all looking forward to the challenges ahead in the new campaign and I’m sure we’re all looking to improve and push ourselves as far as we can, both individually and collectively.”

Kurtis Guthrie was also offered a new deal but he has declined the option of staying at Park View Road. However, the club are entitled to compensation from his potential new club as he is under the age of 24.
