ON LOAN goalkeeper Scott Flinders will remain with Gillingham for another month.

The 20-year-old had been due to return to Crystal Palace after joining in September, but Gills boss Ronnie Jepson and Eagles manager Peter Taylor have reached an agreement that allows Flinders to stay at the Priestfield Stadium for another four weeks.

The Barnsley born keeper made his Gills’ debut in the 2-1 away win at Doncaster, and will continue to get first team experience while Kelvin Jack recovers from injury.

Jepson said: "He’s come in and done well. Hopefully he’s found his feet now. He’s thought very highly of in the England set up as well as at Crystal Palace, and he’s been a good addition to the squad."

Jepson also revealed that Kelvin Jack, the Trinidad and Tobago international goalkeeper, is nearing full fitness and will be pressing for a return to first team action in the near future.

Gary Mulligan is expected to be considered for selection for the league game against Crewe on Saturday after recovering from injury.
