Tonbridge Angels dropped back into the Skrill South relegation zone following a 2-0 home defeat by fellow strugglers Gosport Borough on Tuesday night.
It was the visitors' first game since they were beaten 4-0 by Cambridge in the FA Trophy final on Sunday.
Tommy Warrilow's men were looking to take advantage of a Wembley hangover and were the better side in the first half, with Michael Bakare missing their best chance.
Borough - now three points clear of Angels with three games in hand - took the lead on 49 minutes when Andrew Forbes met a cross from Rory Williams.
Alex Teniola's header was pushed on to the bar by Gosport keeper Nathan Ashmore as Angels searched for an equaliser.
But the visitors made sure of the points with Jamie Brown's injury-time tap-in.
