Tonbridge Angels will meet Charlton Athletic in the Kent Senior Cup final after knocking out Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road on Thursday night.
Mikel Suarez and Sonny Miles scored to put the visitors 2-0 up and Liam Enver-Marum’s late strike for the Fleet was no more than a consolation.
These two sides are set to meet in Conference South next season, with Ebbsfleet relegated from Conference Premier and Angels having avoided the drop earlier this week.
Nathan Elder dragged a shot wide early on and the Fleet went close again when Lee Worgan saved from Ashley Carew.
At the other end, Danny Walder swung over a cross which Lucas Menz did well to claw away.
The opening goal arrived on 23 minutes. Henry Muggeridge crossed for Suarez, who sent a terrific volley flashing past Menz.
Enver-Marum glanced a header wide from Liam Bellamy’s centre and, after the restart, he cut in from the left and shot straight at Worgan when a pass to a team-mate looked the better option.
Tonbridge doubled their lead on 57 minutes when the Fleet failed to clear Lee Browning’s low cross from the right. Miles tucked the loose ball home at the back post.
Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish brought Ram Marwa off the bench for the last 25 minutes. It was the injury-hit midfielder’s first appearance since the start of October.
The home side failed to turn their territorial advantage into a goal until nine minutes from time. Worgan came out to deal with a through-ball but got lost in no-man’s land and Enver-Marum’s shot evaded the covering defenders on its way in.
The goal roused the smattering of home fans inside Stonebridge Road but it was Tonbridge who went closest to scoring in the time that remained. Frannie Collin hit a free-kick from the left-hand corner of the box and his shot whistled past Menz, rattled the crossbar and bounced clear.
